+ 4 Mr. T. R. Procter, Auckland manager for the National Electric and I Engineering Coy. Ltd., is one of the best known figures in New Zealand electrical engineering circles.

A native .of Christchurch , Mr. Procter has devoted practically the whole of his life to the electrical trade. He has been stationed in all the main centres of the Dominion and. prior to linking up with the National Electric in IV. 11 as manager of the firm's Christchurch bra: %h. he served with one of the Dominion’s leading electrical firms for over seventeen years. At one time he spent three years overseas, principally in England, enlarging his knowledge of the business. He came to Auckland toward the latter end of 1921. Outside business. Mr. Procter take, a keen interest in bowling and is president of the Kcmuera Bowling Club. He is also a member of the A net. land Chamher of Co mmerce. THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY PAYMENTS TO SUPPLIERS The Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, will pay out at the rate of Is 4d a lb. superfine for the March supply of butter-fat. Total payments for the season to date amount to £36,570, compared with £27,255 for the corresponding period last season. Over 300 tons of butter have been manufactured this season to date. The total output for last season to June 30 was only 266 tons. The suppliers of the 23 dairy companies having tlieir offices in New Plymouth were paid ovit £60,478 for Ihv:r March supply, as against £46,035 for March, 1928, an increase of £14,443. As is to be expected, production is now falling off. An advance payment of Is 6d a lb. will be made to suppliers of the Kakipuku Dairy Co. (cheese), on the March supply. Butter-fat supplied for the month is 14,0971 b., against 14,8651 b. last season. The distribution of £1,057 Is Sd shows a small decrease on the corresponding month of last year, when £1,114 17s 8d was distributed. BUTTER AND CHEESE Mediants report receipt of overseas cables as follow: — Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., from its London office, under date April 20: “Butter—Our prices unchanged; Anchor, 1665; unsalted, 168 s; market still quiet; Danish, 164 s on the spot; after clearing at 154 s 1’.0.b. now asking 158 s; deliveries of New Zealand during the week amounted to 1.382 tons; slock, 6,934; retail unchanged. Cheese—New Zealand, white 88s: coloured. 90s, and Canadian unchanged: market quiet, retail nil eh anged.”
