A GIFT OF £2,000,000

HEALTH AND HAPPINESS OF CHILDREN A GENEROUS AMERICAN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, Saturday. A message from Detroit says Mr. James Conzens, member of the Senate for Michigan, has given £2,000,000 for the creation of a trust fund, “to be used to promote the health, welfare, happiness and development of the children of Michigan and elsewhere in the world.’’ The fund will be administered by Dr. Freund, Mr. Conzen’s personal physician. One clause of the trust instrument stipulates that the principal and income must be disbursed entirely within 25 years. Mr. James Conzen is president of the Bank of Detroit. He began the manufacture of motor-cars in 1903, and was for some time general manager of the Ford Motor Company, of Detroit. He was for some, years Mayor of Detroit. He was appointed to the Senate in 1922, and again in 1925. He is president of the Children’s Hospital for Michigan and of the Detroit Patriotic Fund.
