SATURDAY’S GAMES With bags slung across their shoulders, hundreds of Auck- ! land's golfers found their way to the various links round the city on Saturday, when the season opened in real earnest. 1 The first round of the captain’s i tourney was played by members of | the Auckland Golf Club at Middlemore. | The course was in excellent condition. > Several matches ended all square, and had to be replayed. Of the S 6 entrants, I S2 completed their games. . MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB The official opening of the Titirangi links was held on Saturday. Members were the guests of the president. Mr. W. J. A. Thomson, and captain. Mr. R. M. Rogerson, for the afternoon. The links were in good condition, and many members took advantage of playing in the mixed bogey foursome. The best score was returned by F. Price and Mrs. Banister, who finished all square. S. Morpeth and Miss 11. Corns ga followed with 1 down, and R. McCrystal and Miss G. Easton, 2 down.
