WEEK-END ACCIDENTS
THREE PEOPLE IN HOSPITAL A man, a woman and a small boy were admitted to the Auckland Hospital as the result of injuries received in minor accidents during the weekend. Thornton Pascoe, aged 19, of Fairfax Road, Epsom, had one leg fractured on Saturday afternoon when a motor-cycle, on the pillion of which he was riding, collided with a motorcar at the corner of Onslow Road and The Drive, Epsom. His injuries arc not serious. A six-year- old boy, Nevill Bruce Gooding, whoso parents live at Kumeu, fell off his scooter and fractured his right thigh. The St. John Ambulance brought him into the Auckland Hospital, and his condition this morning is satisfactory. GIRL KNOCKED DOWN Despite the unusual motor traffic through Onehunga on Saturday to and from the Mangere Airdrome. the police record only one minor accident. The victim was a girl aged 12 named Rena Gates, who in running across the fairway on Mangere Bridge at 6 p.m. was knocked down by a motor-car. She was attended by Dr. W. Howard Thomas, who found that she had a fracture of small bone in her wrist. CHILD FALLS OFF SEE-SAW While playing on one of the seesaws in the children’s area on the Northcote Park Reserve, Thelma Anderson, aged nine, whose parents live in Rodney Road, Northcote, fell ol'f and broke her left arm. She was attended by a doctor and this morning was brought over to the Auckland Hospital.
