NOMINATIONS FOR MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS (From Our Own Correspondent) WHAN GAREI, To-day. Nominations closed at noon to-day for seats on the Wliangarei Borough Council. Those nominated were: Mayor: Messrs. W. Jones (ex-M.P. for Marsden), D. A. McLean (a former Mayor). Council (nine vacancies): Messrs. A. T. Brainsby, A. H. Curtis, E. G. W. Tibbitts. A. M. Rust, L. T. Pickmere, James Jackson (members of retiring council). L. .1. Brake (retiring Mayor), and J. E. Holmes, James Donaldson, W. H. M. Yarrow. Borough representatives on the Harbour Board (two vacancies): Messrs. K. J. Holmes, J. S. F. Briggs, and P. R. Gardner. Borough representatives on the Hospital Board (three vacancies): Messrs. F. Hififginson, R. H. Allan, D. A. McLean, W. Jones, and Mrs. Viva Donaldson.
