WHY CHILDREN LOVE THE FAIRIES
Wo children love the fairies Because they are so sweet, When they come dancing in our dreams Along our dreamland street. When we are sitting in the sun, And weaving dreams so fair, We hear their golden voices Singing every where. The children love the fairies, And fairy stories told They lock away inside their hearts. To keep when they are old. The fairies love the children, And guide their little feet, Along the way to Happy Town, That we call Tiptoe Street. Gloria Rawlinson (aged 10). FROM A LETTER Last night there was such a pretty red and gold sunset. I think Lady Autumn must have been coming down out of the west to pay her annual visit to the mortal world, and her fairy attendants were hanging out coloured banners to bid her farewell! That same Lady Autumn has been dropping some of her jewels into our garden recently, for we have some little chrysanthemums, like yellow stars, coming out. —Jean Melndoe (aged 14).
