WORKERS’ CHALLENGE
COAL-MINING INDUSTRY SYDNEY, Thursday. The Coalminers’ Federation issued a statement at the conclusion of the conference with the owners to-day. when the negotiations for a settlement of the dispute completely broke down This statement says it is quite apparent that the owners will only agree to the reopening of the mines on their own tvms. To those the miners will not agree. The federation reiterates its challenge to the owners for a searching inquiry into the coal industry.
