NEW BACKSTROKE TIME

ENA STOCKLEY’S FINE SWIM FARRELL MAKES RECORDS Ena Stockley. of Grammar Swimming Club, continued her re-cord-making form last evening, whan, at the Tepid Baths, she put up a new time for the 100 yards backstroke. Miss Stockley made a special attempt to lower the 100 yards and the 100 metres times in one swim. Tier time for 100 yards, 70 2-os.. was 1 2-os j better than her own record. She was ; two-fifths of a second outside her own record of Sss for 100 metres, but would probably have put up a new time had she not slipped when making the final turn. David Lindsay paced her. The performances were at the annual championships of the Auckland University College Swimming Club. FARRELL AND RIX-TROTT J. P.
