LICENSEE FINED £5 (From Our Oxen Correspondent) HAMILTON. Wednesday. The licensee of the Commercial Hotel, George Gillett, was fined £ 5 by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., to-day. for permitting drunkenness on his premises. Evidence was given that two men were drunk, and were fighting in the bar. The licensee was absent at the time. At Mr. Johnson’s request, the magistrate increased the fine to £5 Is, and fixed security, for. appeal at £ 17.
