DROVE DANGEROUSLY
TWO OFFENDERS’ LICENCES ENDORSED Two motoring offences brought Cyril Butler, a labourer, heavy penalties in the Police Court yesterday afternoon. For dangerous driving on Great South Road he was convicted and fined £2. It was stated that an accident resulted from the manner in which Butler rode his motor-cycle. Accused was convicted and discharged on a second count of passing a stationary tramcar. After a young woman gave evidence regarding injuries she received when she was struck by the machine as she was assisting her mother to board the car, the magistrate, Mr. E. K. Hunt, S.M., ordered Butler to pay the young woman £25 damages. Mr. Hunt endorsed Butler’s licence, and warned him against further offences. Henry S. Hainswortli, a Mount Roskill resident, also had his licence endorsed for dangerous driving in Dominion Road. He was fined £2 for the offence, and was fined a further £2 for failing to stop after an accident.
