TRAGEDY OF THE SEA
WRECKED LUGGER SEEN BENEATH WATER SEVERAL LIVES LOST ~ Reed. 9 a.m. DARWIN, To-day. George Sunter, who has arrived at Darwin in a sailing lugger, reports having seen a spar sticking out of the water near Cape Keith Melville Island. He could plainly see a wrecked lugger beneath the water. This is believed to be the Harriett, which left Darwin in the charge of Martin Calme, whose wife and family, and one Chinese and three aborigines, were also on board.
