Lord Rothermere purchased it for £525,000, paying £50,000 in order to secure the option until June, 1931. Lord Rothermere also offers £50,000 toward the purchase, making £IOO,OOO, if the entire site is converted into a children’s park, being used for one month of each year as a camping ground for British Boy Scouts.
