PRIMATE AND VATICAN

VISIT TO JERUSALEM ABANDONMENT DENIED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Saturday. Some of the Press agencies deny the “Daily Telegraph’s” story about the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Lang, abandoning his proposed visit to Jerusalem because of the Vatican’s misgivings in that connection. The newspaper named, however, insists that it has fully confirmed its statement.

The “Telegraph” says the Vatican itself draws the fine distinction that the suggested visit has merely been postponed to a more favourable moment, not abandoned.
