Penitentiary walls close about him for life. Before he gives himself up to the law, however, ho leaves his infant daughter on the doorstep of a wealthy couple. By a clever method, a time Japs'* of 15 years is indicated w ithout any slowing up in tempo. Then comes a desperate game, with the happiness of the convict’s daughter at stake. There are some splendidly realistic penitentity scenes, including an attempted prison break. “Warming Up." a breezy Americ r baseball story, starring Richard Dix. will also be shown.

So successful was Raymond Hackett's talking picture debut in “The T\rial of Mary Dugan," the 100 per cent, talking version of Bayard Veiller's popular melodrama, that this young actor has been assigned a featured part in Metro-Goldwyn-Maycr’s forthcoming "Madame X.' Rot] famous stage star, will play the title role, and Hackett will be seen as her son.
