KNOX CHURCH ANNIVERSARY

CELEBRATIONS AT PARNELL Special services were held in the Knox Presbyterian Church in Parnell yesterday to celebrate the 31st anniversary of its foundation. The Rev. D. C. Herron, of St. David’s, conducted the morning service and the Rev. W. D. Morrison Sutherland, of Mount Albert, spoke in the evening. Large congregations attended both services. During the week the ’2lst anniversary meeting of the Knox Church branch of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union was held. Mrs. W. Fegan. the president of the branch, presided, assisted by the Rev. W. Aspland, the minister, the Rev. W. Milne and Mrs. Milne, the Xew Hebrides, and other members and old friends. The branch presented a leather bag to Mrs. Keir, who has been the secretary since the foundation, and a birthday cake was cut and musical items contributed. The branch has contributed nearly £I,BOO to missionary and other church schemes since its formation.
