STORMY MEETING
HAMILTON RATEPAYERS DISCUSS AFFAIRS (Special to THE SUN) HAMILTON, To-day. When members of the Hamiltpn Borough Council attended a conference of ratepayers’ associations held at Frankton on Thursday, to discuss Hamilton municipal affairs, an argument broke out, so that Mr. C. H. Warneford suggested that the members of the council should not be invited to future meetings. Members referred to the trading departments of the council and the tepid baths loan. As a result, another member, Mr. W. Bourne, took exception to the. discussion of municipal affairs by councillors, saying that it, looked as though they wanted to use the meeting for propaganda purposes. A dispute then broke out between Mr. J. E. Tidd and Mr. A. J. Depz about the baths proposal. Mr. Warneford then suggested that if the council were not invited to future meetings, discussion could be conducted with greater freedom.
