WORKMAN’S DEATH

COMPENSATION CLAIM FAILS (Special to THE SL'X) NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. A claim for compensation by Catherine Mary Dunn, of Ellerslie, Auckland, against Arthur James Mack, of New Plymouth, a contractor, plaintiff alleging that her husband's death had been caused through an accident while working for Mack, was dismissed in the Arbitration Court this morning. Plaintiff’s husband, Robert Daniel Dunn, fell from a lorry, receiving an injury to one side. He worked for a’ few days and was taken to hospital suffering from pneumonia. He died on September 26. His wife and six children were dependent on him, and there were four other children who were not dependent. r - Brewster stated the pneumonia might have been developing at the time of the accident, but it was more probable it was due to the fall. He could not, however, say it was due directly to this.
