PROTECTION OF WOMEN

WORK DONE BY SOCIETY The Executive Committee of the New Zealand Society for the Protection of Women and Children met on Monday afternoon, the Rev. I'. S. Smallfield presiding. The secretary reported that 25 new cases had been dealt with. Of this number, 20 dealt with husbands and wives. 12 with various matters, and two with children. There had been IS4 office interviews, and 11 cases had been sent to the solicitors. The inspector had paid 27 visits and spent seven mornings in the Magistrate’s Court. A report from the delegates to the recent conference of the branches of the society, held in Wellington, proved inspiring.

The annual meeting of the society was arranged for April 30.
