A PROTEST

The Hoisting of the red flag—the j all right signal—after the big race at Avondale yesterday did not appear, but in its place a green flag was run up. A protest had been entered by the Lady’s Boy party against interference on the part of White Fang (the second horse), who it was j alleged crossed over and interfered with Lady’s Boy about a chain ! from the post. The Judicial Committee investigated the affair, but was not long j in coming to the only decision that it was possible to arrive at —protest dismissed. Although Lady’s Boy might have been hampered over the last bit he was tiring Uadly, and the result was not affected. That was also the view held by the Judicial Committee when it decided to take 1 no action.
