Several hundreds of children alreadv enjoy the facilities provided by the club. The school has about S.OQO fee of floor space, and has been converted to provide a fine gymnasium k spacious hal, a boxing room, and large workshop in which to teacl woodwork of all descriptions. Th* children are taught all kinds of useful arts and crafts. The girls ar. taught sewing, and are given training in drama, folk dancing, and music. 1 harmonica band is being started wit instruments presented by Lewis Ka4 Ltd., and an instructor arranged for by the Rotayr Club. A wireless se is much appreciated by the children The club is open every evening during the winter. In addition, the club conducts cricket, football, baskeiba; volley-ball, and in the holiday seaso: a playground for the children under supervision. The erection of a solarium is the latest ambition, and a campaign :■ being started to rais® the necessar; funds. A committee was convened tc arrange for the establishment of th* solarium, at the request of the medical men of Auckland. It ha; the approval of Dr. Ada Pattersrdirector of school hygiene for th Dominion, and doctors are hoping for a great improvement in the health the children.
