Auctioneering firms report on stock sales held throughout the district during the past week as follow:

Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., —During the week we held sales at Fukekoiie (cattle aond pigs), Westfield, Waiuku, Kumeu, Helensville, Tuakau (cattle and pigs), and Wellsford, also two clearing sales. There were full yardings of cattle for the time of year, and practically a total clearance was effected at all centres. MINING NEWS OCCIDENTAL-UN A. —The manager reports: The second stope on the No. 2 reef is still in progress, and the country continues to look well, with silica blend and colours, and dabs of gold showing. Owing to a slight accident, the installation at McGregor’s battery of electric power has been temporarily delayed, but we hope to have ic completed at an early date, when crushing will commence.
