CHANCE FOR COLLECTORS

COMMEMORATIVE STAMPS POSTAL CONVENTION ISSUE British Official Wireless RUGBY, Monday. For tho second time only in the history of the British Post Office it is about to issue commemorative postage stamps. This office, which introduced postage stamps, has, since 1840, preserved a uniform attitude averse from the use of stamps for commemorative or similar purposes. However, in connection with the Postal Union Convention, which is to assemble in a few weeks’ time in London, five kinds of stamps are to be on sale at all post offices in Britain for three months in place of those of ordinary design. The values are to include Id, ljd, 2£d and £l. It is interesting to note the revival -■f the £1 stamp. Issues of adhesive stamps of that value were abolished 14 years ago. The revival is for this occasion only. It is expected that there will be a keen demand for this issue by philatelists.
