NURSES AT OPOTIKI
HOSPITAL MAY BECOME TRAINING CENTRE NEW WARDS ALMOST FINISHED (Special to THE SUN) OPOTIKI, To-day. The Opotiki Hospital Board received a letter from the Acting-Director-Gen-eral of Health at a recent meeting, saying that the board’s application for the Opotiki Hospital to be made a training centre was a subject which should go before the Nurses’ and Midwives’ Registration Board, and promising to put the application before this board. Dr. Budd. the medical superintendent, reported that 23 patients had been admitted to the hospital during March and that 26 had been discharged. Subject to the approval of the architect, the new building for the women’s ward would be ready for occupation in a month’s time. The Health Department wrote agreeing to the expenditure of £SOO by the board in the year 1929-30 for an extension to the men’s ward.
