SIR HARRY LAUDER
COMPANY OF STARS That E. J. Carroll is directing the tour of Sir Harry Lauder and his new company of international vaudeville stars is a guarantee that an entertainment de luxe will be presented at His Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday evening next. Many difficulties had to be overcome before this tour could be arranged, but all is now complete in every detail. Tom Vallance, personal representative for Sir Harry, has arrived, and Sir Harry is expected in Auckland within the next few days in order to rehearse his new numbers with tho orchestra, which, with the conductor, Haydn Beck, arrived yesterday morning, from Sydney. Sir Harry will present many new numbers in song, character sketch and story during this tour, and in addition many of the old favourites will be included in his programmes. The management has received dozens of requests for special numbers and these will bo acceded to according to popular- favour. „ With a desire to afford Sir Harry suitable and adequate support. E. J. Carroll has spared neither trouble or expense in the selection of a supporting company and the .result is a coterie of international artists who will present entirely new acts of a most diversified nature. “Tik” Carpenter, the surprise packet, direct from his recent London season, in a novel and artistic act; Miss Beryl Wentworth, who comes with a great reputation as a singer of catchy chorus songs which are ever popular with audiences the world over; Rupert Hazel and Elsie Day, the harmony-larity duo (the male member of this duo will be recognised by owners of gramophones as the comedian who made the famous record “3LO”). The Fredo Brothers present an unusual and thrilling act which they featured on the Orpheum Circuit, CJ.S.A.; they are known as the comedv aerobatic violinists. A cartoonist and lightning sketch artist from the leading Continental variety theatres, Don Julian provides and entertaining and amusing interlude. The fine orchestra under the conductorship of the distinguished musician, Haydn Beck, completes the programme. Box plan arrangements are announced.
