LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY
CONCERT CHAMBER THIS EVENING It is with justifiable pride that the Auckland Little Theatre Society invites supporters to witness their first production for the 1929 season. “Bird In Hand,” to be presented at the Town Hall concert chamber this evening. “Bird In Hand” is one of the most brilliant works from the pen of that great playwright. John Drinkwater, and is, in fact, the first Drinkwater play to be seen in New Zealand. One of the central characters of the piece is an old-fashioned innkeeper. His daughter, Joan, is very modern, and when she falls in love with the son of a nobleman the innkeeper stubbornly refuses to consider the match on the grounds of class distinction. The innkeeper will be played by Arnold Goodwin, and the part of the daughter will be taken by Janet Clarkson, who is making her first appearance with the society. Harold Haines, Dan Flood, Ernest Blair, Morrison Steedman, Ina M. Allan and Gerald Roxburgh have the remaining roles. „ , The plav will also be presented on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
