COMPETITION FOR MASCOT (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) SYDNEY, Tuesday. At the bloodstock sales to-day, Mr. E. Riddiford’s brood mare Mascot (by Martian—Mary of Argyle) gave rise to spirited bidding, and she was sold for 850 guineas. Mr. G. D. Greenwood’s mares were sold for the following amounts:—Sungleam (by Sutala—Sunglow), 340gns: Yawn (by Cooltrim—Quietest), 50gns: Adour (by Danube—Perle D'Or), 270 guineas. Mr. Sol Green’s Strephon was passed in at 9,ooogns. Mr. Greenwood's Honour was passed in at 4,ooogns. Mr. Brien’s Rampion was sold at 1.850gn5., and Fernkloof (fourth in last year’s Epsom Derby) at £3.500.
