MOTHERS’ UNION SERVICE

CATHEDRAL CELEBRATION Yesterday afternoon over 800 peopleattended the annual service of the Church of England Diocesan Mothers’ Union in St. Mary’s Cathedral, conducted by Archbishop Averill, assisted by Canon P. E. James. Among those present were the Lady Alice Fergusson and Mrs. Averill, the diocesan president of the union. In his sermon the Archbishop said that each member of the union should strive to live a life of prayer, obedience and service. They must teach spiritual observance in the home life and pray for the thing that Jesus prayed for. The union must stand for the things for which He stood.
