ROAD MERGER

WORK IN WAIKATO ENGINEER’S SATISFACTION (Special to THE SUN) HAMILTON, To-day. Speaking at a meeting of the Waikato County Council yesterday, Mr. A. Woodward, the engineer, commented on the year-old merger of the Cambridge, Whangamarino and Tamahere Road Boards. “A large amount of organisation.” said Mr. Woodward, “has been necessary to carry on the extra work entailed by the absorption of these new districts, but I think, on the whole, the .move has been a good one. While I have not been able to do all I would have liked to have done, I think the general progress during the past year has been very good. The extra work entailed by the bitumen sealing of the main road through Huntly has kept us very busy this summer, but this work is now completed.’'
