FRANKLIN STOCK SALE BEEF MARKET FIRM Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the FranKton stock sale held yesterday as follows: There was a fair yarding of beef. For choice light-weight bullocks the demand was good, and all sold at slightly advanced rates. Medium quality fat cows and heifers sold at late rates. There was a good yarding of store cattle. In our entry we had 160 3-year steers ex West Coast, which commanded good competition, and all sold at the following rates! Pen 34-year steers, £9 12s : ditto., £9 13s; ditto, £9 9s, ditto, £9 12s 6d ; ditto, £9 ss; ditto, £9: ditto, £8 17s 6d ; ditto, £9 2s; dittd, £8 2s 6d ; pen weaners, £5 ; store cows, £3 15s; yearling Jersey heifers, £4 10s ; Ayrshire cross yearling heifers, £3 There was a large yarding of sheep, which met with a good demand. Fat wethers sold at up to 35s 3d ; fat ewes, 2Ss: fat woolly lambs, up to 295; 39 store woolly ewe lambs, made up to 26s 4d ; 2S woolly ewe lambs, 25s 6d ; 48 wether woolly lambs. 22s 6d : 63 m.s. woolly black-face lambs, 19s sd. On account of John Pratt we sold 140 4-tooth ewes running with Southdown rams, 41s 3d; 250 4tooth ewes, at 40s 9d ; 66 4-tooth ewes, 40s; 50 2, 4 and 6-tooth ewes, 375: 70 2, 4 and 6-tooth ewes, 375; 240 5-year-old ewes at 31s: 94 5-year ewes, 26s 3d ; 62 mixed aged ewes, 24s 6d. There was a fair yarding of pigs. Light haveners brought from £2 15s to £3 12s; light porkers, 35s : good porkers, up to £2 10s Only a small yarding of store pigs, which sold at late rates. TAUMARUNUI STOCK SALE % Prom Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. There was a large yarding of sheep at the weekly sale to-day, lambs in particular selling well. Prices ranged:— Sheep.—Two and four-tooth wethers, 24s Sd; two-tooth wethers, 30s 7d to 30s 9d: m.a. wethers. 22s 3d to 24s Id: twotooth ewes, 31s: s.m. ewes. 20s 9d; sixtooth to f.f.m. ewes, 28s Id: fat lambs, 20s: m.s. lambs, 15s to ISs 9d: good ewe lambs, 25s 7d: other ewe lambs, 21s to i 24s 9d: wether lambs, ISs 9d to 19s 7d.
