WALTER BYRON

TO APPEAR WITH VILM/ BANKY

Walter Byron, the young Englishman whom Samuel Goldwyn imported to America to play opposite Vilma Banky in “The Awakening,” her first individual United Artists starring picture, is quite willing to agree that the world is a small place after all. Last spring, while he was still in England, a German film company offered him a contract to play opposite Lily Damita, the European screen actress, who Samuel Goldwyn recently brought to California to be Ronald Colman’s leading lady. Byron was forced to turn down the German offer and Miss Damita heard no more of him. Tlio two of them had to travel seven thousand miles to Hollywood before they first met at the Goldwyn studios.
