MATAMATA BOWLERS

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES (From Our Own Correspondent) MATAMATA, Sunday. A large number of bowlers and their friends met on the Matamata green on Saturday afternoon. Mr. W. Egan, president of the club, presented Mr. Peter Stewart, the wellknown Matamata skip, with the Waikato Singles Championship Cup. He congratulated Mr. Stewart on his fine performance and wished him many further successes. By defeating Paeroa. Messrs. Banks, Gordon. Egan and Were (skip) brought the Goldfields Stars back to Matamata, and the trophy was presented to the team by Mr. Egan. Messrs. Edward and Allan Bowler, members of the club, are leaving the district to live in Te Arolia. They were each presented with an initialled leather bowl case. Mrs. A. Stewart and Messrs. Banks, Gordon and Stevens joined with the president in felicitous speeches.
