League Rugby CLUBS AMALGAMATE At a combined meeting of the Grafton Athletic and Kingsland Rovers League Rugby Clubs, over SO members being present, it was decided to amalgamate under the name of the Kingsland Athletic Club. The colours of the club will be maroon, with a blue and gold shield. Officers were elected as follow: Patron. Mr. W. J. Webb; vice-patrons, Messrs. Bartram, E. Barnaby, and Pratt; president, Mr. J. McQuillan: vice-presidents, same as last year, with power to add: hon. secretary, Mr. J. R. Angelo; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Ball; auditors, Messrs. H. Avery and T. Katcliffe; delegate to Auckland Rugby League, Mr. H. Catterall; delegate to junior management committee, Mr. W. Dryland; club captain, Mr. J. McGregor; committee, Messrs. Floray (chairman), H. Neil, A. Brown, L. Lucas, A. Huxford, J. Carter, Scott, Newman, Opie. AUCKLAND PRIMARY SCHOOLS A highly successful year's work in tho schools is reported by the Auckland Rugby League Primary Schools’ Management Committee in its annual report. Last year, 12 schoolboy teams wero entered for the various competitions, which is considered to be a very pleasing feature, considering that this is the second year of a new branch of the code. Reference is made .to the home and homo representative matches arranged with the Lower Waikato schoolboy representatives, and to the visit of the Ellersiie team to Ngaruawahia. It is suggested that the weight limit should be reduced to 7st 71b this year, in order to even up the teams and make the competition even better than it has been in the past two seasons. Union Rugby OHAEAWAI CLUB At the annual meeting of the Ohaeawai Rugby Football Club, the balance sheet showed a credit of £6. In his report, tho president referred to the loss the club was sustaining by Mr. and Mrs. W. King leaving the district. They had been keen supporters and active workers for the* club since they came to the district 40 years ago. He presented Mr. King with a case of pipes. Soccer NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD At a largely attended meeting of Soccer enthusiasts held at Northcote
last evening, Mr. C. Stephenson presiding. it was decided to amalgamate with Birkenhead, for the purpose of strengthening the teams to be placed in the field under the auspices of the Auckland Football Association competitions. The follow’ing officers were elected: Committee. Messrs. C. Stephenson (chairman), B. Hillum. W. Roberts, H. Taylor. D. Munro. H. McMillan. C. Gilfoyle. A. Speed. W. Clark, R. Adams, S. It was decided to enter for the competitions senior, second and third grade, also teams in the boys’ 'grades. Tho first practice will be held next Saturday on the Municipal Recreation Reserve. Bowling BUCKLAND BEATS TUAKAU The third match between the Buckland and Tuakau Bowling Cliibs for the Tonkin-Jeff eris-Ful ton Cup was played on Saturday. Buckland won the trophy.
