COMMITTED FOR TRIAL

A married man named Peter Dowio. 42 years of age. appeared before Messrs. D. A. Sutherland and J. E. Green, J.P.’s. at the Onehunga Police Court yesterday afternoon, on a serious charge involving his step-daughter, aged 11. Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike prosecuted. Evidence was given by the girl concerned, her sister, aged 14, a brother, aged 5, and a neighbour. Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. He was committed for trial- at the next sitting of the iiiUfiseffle C-OUti.
