YEARLINGS ARRIVE TO-DAY RANDWICK PURCHASES Owing to the fact that no less than ten yearlings were aboard, the arrival of the Marama at Auckland this morning was attached with special interest to racing men. pERHAPS the most interesting shipment was the lot booked to the Te Rapa trainer. P. Brady, his team now being increased by the addition of six youngsters. They were purchased by Mrs. It. T. Caro, well-known as the owner of Wenday, at the annual yearling sales held at Randwick last week. Information is not to hand just yet as to the breeding of them all, but it can he definitely stated that the leading lines of half are as mentioned below. There was nothing wrong with the condition of the yearlings either, though, of course, the slight filling which was apparent in their legs can be attributed to the long sea voyage. The Avondale mentor, J. W. Cathro, was also a speculator at the sales, and a brace was knocked down to him. They, too, were also unloaded without any unnecessary delay.. A chestnut gelding by Hades from The Kettle attracted some notice, and if looks are the essential facto.r he appeared to be the pick of the bunch. However, attention could be also directed to several others, but at present it would not be wise to discriminate on this point. The following is a list of the arrivals: — HON. E. W. ALISON B g. by Limelight—True Maid. Ch c, by Tarquin—Marcovara. MRS. R. I. CARO Filly, by Polycrates—Black Tea. Gelding, by Baton Lad—Sidorus. Colt, by Beaufort—Lady Sindhia. J. W.
