PRICES IN SMITHFIELD The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cablegram from its London office, dated April 5, advising- Smithfield delivered prices averaged for the week ended that date, as follows: — New Zealand Wethers and Maidens. — Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under, 7d a lb; 571 b to 641 b, to 721 b, 5 1-Sd. Other brands, 561 b and under, 63d; 571 b to 641 b, 6 1-Sd; 651 b to 721 b, sd. New Zealand Ewes. —641 b and under, 43d. New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury quality, 361 b and under, 9Jd; 371 b to 421 b, S 5-Sd; 431 b to 501 b, seconds, 8 7-Bd. Selected brands, 361 b and under, 9*d; 371 b to 421 b, 8 5-Sd. Other brands, first quality, 361 b and under. 9d; 371 b to 421 b, S\d: second quality, 301 b to 321baverage, 8 7-Bd. Australian Lambs.—Victorian, first quality, 361 b and under, 8 3-8 d; 371 b to 421 b. 7?d. Argentine Lambs. —First quality, 361 b and under, 73d; 371 b to 421 b, 7d. Argentine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores, 4£d; hinds, Sd. New Zealand Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 601 b to 801 b. S£d: 811 b to 991 b. 8Id; 1001 b to 1201 b, Sid. Baconers, 1211 bto 1801 b, S2d. Lambs.—Market is firmer, with good demand. Mutton 'Market.—Wethers continue slow. For ewes the market is quiet and unchanged. New Zealand Porker Pigs.—Market has improved owing to lesser supplies of home-killed. New Zealand baconer Figs.—ln good demand, owing to firm bacon market.
