FAREWELL TO MR. W. E. BUSH
PRESENTATIONS FROM STAFF The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G I faaildon, members of the Citv Council and members of the Town Hall staff met m the concert chamber of the roan Hall last evening to say goodbye to Mr. W. E. Bush, city engineer, who is leaving shortly for Brisbane. f.,£tr ei ; rmS - t0 ilr ’ Bush ' s 23 years’ faithfui service w-uh the City Council. Mr. Baildon, who presided, expressed tne council s appreciation of his work and on behalf of the council,'presented Mi. Bush with a bound copy of the oecial minute recorded at the la=t meeting describing Mr. Bush’s work in Auckland. , Mr. .1. Si. Brigham, the town clerk oresented Mr. Bush with a sold watch
on behalf of the staff and Mrs. B: ham with some fine silverware. When Mr. Bush rose to thank t meeting loud cheers were given. Mr Bush also thanked the staff and srhow much she regretted leaving Alicia nd. - .- a Items were given by Messrs. : Bowes. Alan McElwain. H. C. MclV' rian, Birrell O'Malley, Miss Kay Cnr.' tie and Miss Messer. Supper- ~ served and afterwards dancing le place.
