THAMES FIRE BRIGADE
ANNUAL SOCIAL HELD The .Thames Volunteer Fire Brigade held its annual election of officers last evening. The following were elected: Superintendent, Supt. A. Garrett (reelected); deputy-superintendent, A. Fleming; foreman (south), E. Kenny; foreman (north), F. Wilton; secretary, P. L. .Jenkins; treasurer, J. Pratt; auditors, deputy-superintendent A. Fleming and Foreman F. Wilton; librarians, Firemen Griffin and Hoskins; hon. pianists, Messrs. J. Buchan, W. Scrimgeour and B. Gleeson. At a social evening after the meeting Supt. A. Garrett was presented with a gold bar to gold star for 33 years’ service, and Deputy-Superin-tendent Pratt gold bar to gold star for 27 years' service. Firemen A. Bateman (15 years), O. McDonnell (13 years), E. Griffen (11 years) were presented with a silver bar to service medal. Musical items were rendered by Messrs. J. A. Briggs, L. White, P. Hoskins, W. Johnston. J. A. Bailey and H. Burnett. Messrs. J. Buchan and B. Gleeson officiated at the piano.
