S —— AH WERA AS ’CHASER COMMENT FROM THE TRACK (Special to THE SUN) TE AROHA, Friday. Crown Arch did not recover from the effects of his cold sufficiently soon to be included in the Avondale acceptors. He is, however, expected to be all right again soon, and if so will be a contestant at the Waikato meeting this month. Black Maire has quickly reached the top of the hack list, although he has so far only been victorious twice, and each occasion at a country meeting. He will Justify the handicapper’s opinion if he scores at Avondale to-day with 10.3. Nurjahan, Bert Hinkler and Sensola, which comprise C. Mallowe’s trio, are doing well, and their track work is entirely satisfactory. They appear to be improving each week, and will probably be competing at the Waikato fixture. Over Big Fences Ah Wera. a big dividend-payer at D aeroa, and who was knocked about hia hurdle race there, has made steady improvement, and will soon be rcady for a further course of schooling. When he settles down properly ne should jump in fine style, and perhaps take part in steeplechase events. Marble King has not yet struck win*'inS form this season.. As a matter of ™ct, he is being placed somewhat highly, considering his racing condit:on has not been forward. When he meets an easy field he should prove *iual to running at least prominently. . m netoa * s the better for his race a- Tauranga, and may win for Mr. A. AicNicol before long.
