ACCIDENT IN EMILY PLACE ELDERLY MAN INJURED When the driver of a motorlorry standing in Emily Place ; about 9 a.m. this morning was in- | side a building the brakes on the lorry gave way and the vehicle j dashed down toward Customs | Street. ; A T the same time Mr. Thomas Wiugfield, aged 74, of 9 Ranfurly Road, EpSbm, was crossing the foot of Emily Place from Customs Street toward Fort Street. He was struck by the lorry, which ended its career by ' crashing into a motor-car parked on i the opposite kerb. j Mr. Wingfield was put into a taxi and ] taken to the Auckland Hospital.
