PERSISTENT SWAIN

WANTED TO SEE HIS GIRL OBSTRUCTED POLICE Jack Wilson is a he-man from the great open spaces. When he wants to see his girl, it takes two constables to stop him. Wilson, a dealer, aged 33, appeared at the Police Court this morning to answer charges o£ being drunk and disorderly, using obscene language, and obstructing the police. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said Wilson created a row at the door of a house, where he said he knew a girl. The girl was not there, but Wilson insisted on a search. As he could not be placated the police were called, and after a struggle two of them put him under control. “When Wilson takes drink he becomes very violent,” said the subinspector. Wilson admitted he was certainly drunk, but remembered nothing else. The Sub-Inspector: Yes, lighting drunk. Mr. W. R. McKean: It is a serious business to obstruct the police. 1 see you have a list also. Wilson was lined 20s or 24 hours on the first charge. £2 or seven days on the second, and £2 or seven days on the third. He was given 14 days to pay.
