RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“FOUR WALLS” Tlie picture now at. the Rialto anti Regent (Epsom) Theatres. "Four Walls.” starring John Gilbert, is the story of an underworld leader in the East Side of New York City. Because he shoots a man in a cafe brawl lie is sent “up the river” for four years. When he gets out he is resolved to go straight. He finds that his lieutenant has stolen both his position as head of the gang and his girl. Tho girl tries to get Gilbert back and he turns her down. From then on the picture is a story of the struggle of the star to stay on the straight and narrow path and to keep awav from the girl. The whirlwind finish' to the story adds thrill to the excellent and noval plot situation. Joan Crawford does the best work she has yet brought to the screen as the leading lady while the excellent cast Includes Carmel Myers and Vera Gordon. “Man. Woman and Wife.” the second feature, tells of a man who lost his nerve at the war and sunk into the underworld on his return. Pauline Stark and Kenneth Harlan have the leading roles.
