AVONDALE FINALS
FEW GALLOPS TO-DAY LATEST FROM THE TRACK There was not a great deal of fast work executed at Avondale this morning, the outside of the course proper, 30 feet out, and the plough both being in excellent order. Glenstar pleased by the way in which he left six furlongs behind in 1.18 4-5. finishing strongly, and Stormy covered half a mile in 51 3-5. These horses worked on the course proper. On the plough Motere and The Begum sprinted home three furlongs easily in 42 1-5. and British King beat Carmint over the same ground in 38 3-5. Aussie did pace work, finishing smartly over the last half-mile in 50 2-5. With all his weight he is going to be hard to beat in the classic tomorrow, although he appears to be up against an exceptional two-year-old in Gay Ballerina. Doubtful Runners Supremacy is reported as being a doubtful starter in the All-Aged Stakes, and it is expected that he will not race again until next season. Besert Glow is not a sure runner in the Foley Memorial Handicap. but nothing definite could be learned this morning on this point.
