TIMBER-WORKERS’ DISPUTE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) itecd. 9.40 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. According to a message received by the Trades Hall, the attempt to settle the timber-workers* strike, initiated by the Victorian Chamber of Manufacturers, has proved abortive. The collapse of the conference followed a consideration for hours of the question. Neither side would yield.
