BAY OF PLENTY MATCH The Y.M.C.A. side which went touring in the Bay of Plenty at Easter has returned to Auckland. A match with the Bay of Plenty representatives was cominen' ?d on Easter Saturday, when the visitore, winning the toss, opened with Miller and Sutherland. The pair, by steady cricket, put on 70 runs before Sutherland was nia out. Miller compiled 77 runs befoii hitting his wicket. He hit 10 fours. Stallworthy hit out in making 50, including three sixes. Smith also batted well in making 34. The inning* yielded 244, the most successful Bay of Plenty bowler being Snodgrass, wbj took four for 27. York secured font for 42. Bay of Plenty replied with ljl (Knight 35, Crowley 25, York 48). * Kemp took three for 58, and Paton three for 22. Jug In its second innings, Y.M. made IS< for nine wickets declared (Sutherland 41, Stallworthy 31, R. Kemp 40). again bowled well, taking four for a-. At stumps Bay of Plenty had seve*. wickets down for 204 (Sutherland 657, Crowley 36. and Knight 43). HarrH son took three wickets for 24, ana Paton two for 20. The match ended in a draw.
