A charming way of using up a length of lace, either black or coloured, is to make it into a simple little evening dress like the one sketched. The bodice is perfectly plain; the skirt is cut with an inset godet flare at one side, which is balanced on the other side by the ends of the broad satin sash. The sash should match the foundation fabric.
