LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY
A DIFFICULT ROLE The Auckland Little Theatre Society will present “Bird in Hand.'’ by John Drink water, at the concert chamber, Town Hall, on April 10, 11, 1- and 13. The part of Thomas Greenleaf presented distinct difficulties in casting - . He is an old man, a farmer of the English Midlands, domineering dictatorial, a yeoman of England, but, withall, a splendid type of early Victorian manhood. The director, Mr. Kenneth Brampton, tried many men in this particular part, and \tfas almost in despair. However, he persuaded that sterling helper of the society, Mr. Arnold Goodwin, to try his hand at the part. This he did with happy and members will see him eclipse his previous fine performances. The rest of the characters have been satisfactorily allotted and are all working hard with the object of giving John Drinkwater's play the treatment that this delighful comedy deserves.
