BIG DECREASES

A further slump in totalisator investments was recorded at Ellerslie on Saturday and Monday. Three of the. A.R.C. meetings—spring, summer, and autumn — have gone down to history, and the investments for those fixtures total £561.892. a decrease of £118,2752 over the three corresponding meetings last season. For the two days of the just concluded autumn meeting the decrease was £20,4332. But while the majority of clubs in the city and province continue to record a decline in totalisator receipts, some clubs in the South show substantial increases, two notable cases being the Easter meetings at Feilding and Masterton. One of the primary causes insofar as the A.R.C. Ts concerned is the weather, which has not been on its best behaviour, particularly for the two first days of the summer meeting.
