The pumping out of Lake Nemi, which is situated in the crater of an old volcano. 17 miles from Rome, was begun at the instigation of Signor Mussolini on October 22, 1925. Cains Caesar, surname cl Caligula, was Emperor of Rome from A.D. 37 to 41. He was eruel and extravagant. He had a number of pleasure galleys, richly furnished and decorated, on Cake Nemi.
