BUSES CHANGE OVER

Sir.— The change-over of the Western Suburbs buses commenced with a de* lightful muddle, which merely prolonged the long-suffering inconvenience of people in those localities. After waiting nearly twice as long as usual, I clambered aboard a citybound bus yesterday morning (Sunday), and, as usual, proffered my concession card. The driver curtly informed me that he could not accept concession cards. I had to b« content with tlgit. Later a man got on to the same bus, and was relieved of his concession card! So far, so good, for Sunday. Thi:i morning I wanted to come to work a: the usual hour, but this weirdly inefficient system made me late by exactly 15 mlnstes—the time I waited at the stop for a bus. It was within the area served by Avondale Point Chevalier vehicles, so there was a choice of two or three Even so I waited 15 minutes. Have you gyer lived in the Western Suburbs, sir? Then you don't understand! It is becoming daily more understandably to why people are being driven city-wards to occupy high-rent flats in preference to their suburban garden cottages. SICK-TO-DEATH.
