With winter close upon us. talk in Wellington, apart from dirt-track racing, is naturally of the game which demands so much of New Zealand's attention—Rugby. Practically all the principal clubs in and around the city have held their annual meetings, and delegates to the W.R.U. assembling during the week to give the season its annual kick-off. So far there has not been much talk of new players, and few stars seem to be in the firmament from outside constellations. Bill Huxtable, an ex-Hawke’s Bay representative. and £>. Parata. Manawhenua representative forward, are both reported to have joined up with the Athletic Club. It is also reported that Wanoa, a native player from the Auckland district, is seeking a club with whom to throw in his lot.
